Edu. Philosophy

"Technology is a tool that augments academic endeavors."

Neil deGrasse Tyson once said, “As an educator, it's my duty to empower you to think. So that you can go forth and think accurate thoughts about how the world is put together.” I have realized the impact that I have as a positive influence, for our youth and educators in the classroom and in their personal life. I’m looking forward to spending time with learners and educators and becoming a source of guidance regarding Educational Technology and Schools and Classroom Innovation.

I believe in giving students and educators the ability to succeed by providing them with the skills to push further than they thought possible, with or without the aid of their peers. The belief that positive community relations are paramount in the ability to increase resources and services in order to enhance the education of students and to provide assistance to teachers and administrators is equally important. With the aid of the communities, educators can provide life and work expertise otherwise not available in the classroom, because creative teaching strategies play an important role in cementing student learning.

Academically, I believe that digital literacy is a twenty first century skill and I believe that educators as well as students need to reassess the ways they approach teaching and learning literacy, how we use the ability to locate, organize, understand, evaluate, and create information using digital technology. Giving students the working knowledge of current and up and coming technology allows students to understand how digital literacy can be used to enable faster task making and more interactive engagements. Digital technology offers many windows in which students can be reached and digitally literate students can communicate and work more efficiently, especially with those who possess the same knowledge and skills. Simply put, our culture revolves and it is intertwined around digital literacy.

I perceive that Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics are integral to functioning efficiently in today’s society. I also value the purposeful use of mathematical and scientific resources in decision-making as it celebrates the beauty of thoughtful mathematical and scientific procedures. As an educator, I like to facilitate individual and collaborative investigations in which I require students to construct their own scientific and mathematical knowledge. While participating, students refine their computational, manipulative, problem solving, critical thinking, and logical thinking skills. In the end, I believe in a learning community that produces self-confident and independent learners who realize their full potential as students who explore all avenues and facets of the physical and theoretical world. My aim is to provide educators with the tools for students to develop the intellectual and practical skills necessary to satisfy their own innate curiosity.
