  • Work with functional student users and staff on the instructional and training needs related to the SIS Modernization Project.  

  • Design instructional development classes, seminars and workshops; produce course-ware including manuals, quick reference guides, FAQs, PowerPoint presentations, hands-on activities and web-based materials such as videos and podcasts.  

  • Prepare documentation for related software, and articles for in-house and external publications; collaborate with functional team leads to understand business processes and ensure that training courses are comprehensive and highlight functionality that is complex, critical or has deviations from current process.  

  • Build scenarios and data in the training environment for recordings, demonstrations, and hands-on activities; and lead training courses, train the trainer sessions and demonstrations, and staff open labs.  

  • Consults with administrators, faculty, staff and others on instructional needs, systems and subsystems. Analyzes, designs, presents and oversees the implementation of training programs. Instructional Designer 

       XPO, Less than a Truckload Division

       November 2018 to Present

  • Analyze and evaluate training needs of departments to provide optimal and effective training through webinars, e-learnings and on the job training.

  • Conduct content analysis of current training materials for accuracy and prevalent material.

  • Design and develop classroom, self-paced and interactive learning formats, including but not limited to webinars, e-learning and video formats.

  • Create and develop user documentation including user guides, web aid material quick guides, on-line help, static websites and other formats.

  • Train business unit trainers regarding company system applications and training tools such as Skype, Adobe Connect, Go To Meeting and Articulate.

  • Create weekly, bi weekly and monthly reports for learning objects and curricula in the XPO University to assess participation in training programs, curriculum and virtual learning.

  • Build tests and surveys that analyze knowledge, skills and abilities of the 22,000 employees in XPO within Less than a Truckload division.

  • Maintain current knowledge of industry standards in e-learning and instructional theory.

  • Project manage current content to make sure that our projects are delivered on time and within the requested scope of the project.

  • Meet with stakeholders and subject matter experts to better understand the audience and make sure that the training material that is created is accurate and pertains to the requested subject.

Educational Technology  & Instructional Design Specialist 

       Grand Ledge Public Schools

       August 2014 to October 2018

 

  • Work with administration and train them in selecting educational technology tools for 400+ staff and teachers. Increased educational technology use by educators in the district by 13%.

  • Evaluate, and improve if necessary learning technologies used by Grand Ledge employees.

  • Introduce administration, principals, and teachers to new educational technology methods, materials, and instructional strategies that through research have proven to increase student engagement and achievement. As well as develop, evaluate, and integrate curriculum materials and specific lesson-plans that integrate technology.

  • Review organizational resources and perform technological needs analyses for over 250 educators. Also, create and/or implement teaching and learning materials for teachers use in various technological devises.

  • Plan and facilitate district wide long-term high quality year-round professional development for administration, and over 300 staff and teachers (in teams or individually) in order to refine and support their learning needs and current knowledge and skills.

  • Develop, find, and implement instructional educational technology solutions and related training materials for the purpose of providing users with tools needed to utilize emerging instructional technology for enhancing the learning of students and students with disability issues.

  • Develop and model effective team building, instructional strategies, teaching methods and best practices in a digital environment while providing classroom coaching and observation. 

  • Use Instructional Design to create, compile, and present educational and instructional technology materials, as written, video tutorials, and eLearning.

  • Use Universal Design for Learning to create flexible environments to maximize learning skills.

  • Follow the guidelines from International Society for Technology in Education ISTE, and drive the district progression towards Expanded Online Learning Options (21f).

  • Seek professional growth through MACUL, Classroom 2.0, MERLOT, Online Learning Consortium, and other organization and institutions. Research educational technology integration and pedagogies relevant to coaching, and lead the evolution, evaluation, and effectiveness of instructional technology programs.
